Newport Boat Show goes educational - as well...

29.08.2013

Educational input is all the go in Boat Shows across the world in 2013 - whether it's the RYA Dinghy Show, the Sydney International Boat Show or the annual Annapolis Boat Show. This time it's Rhode Island's Newport International Boat Show which is offering attendees what they call 'unparalleled educational programs'.

Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced today its educational programs for the 43rd annual show. The largest boat show in New England and the kick off to the Fall boat show season, the Newport International Boat Show is committed to furthering recreational boating by providing skilled and novice boaters with more opportunities than ever to learn about and experience boating while attending the show.

Scheduled programs include Discover Boatings Hands On Skills Training (HOST) series allowing boaters to take to the water and learn new skills or hone existing ones, Lee Chesneaus Marine Weather a one-day, entry-level course on understanding weather forecasting, Discover Sailings Introduction to Sailing for individuals or families who want to experience the sailing lifestyle, and Pam Walls seminars a series of sailboat cruising presentations.

In its second year, the Newport International Boat Shows exclusive Discover Boating HOST series will offer one- to three-hour on-the-water powerboat and sailboat workshops throughout the four-day event, that are designed to teach and improve boating skills. With classes for both first time and experienced boaters, the HOST programs are taught by US Coast Guard licensed captains who are professional, certified instructors from the Recreational Powerboating Association (RPBA) and the American Sailing Association (ASA).
