First Monaco Yacht Summit
As part of its drive to extend its activities in the service of yachting, in September this year the Monaco Yacht Show is holding the first edition of the Monaco Yacht Summit.
The Monaco Yacht Summit aims to provide an annual forum for the yachting world, to address issues of importance to yacht owners and buyers and to create a space where the main players in yachting can meet, talk and build links. This first edition will take place at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, on Tuesday 24 September 2013, on the eve of the yacht show (25 to 28 September, Port Hercule).
The organisers of the Monaco Yacht Show will bring together a panel of experts, company heads and leading figures from the yachting world, but also business leaders and panel members from other spheres to enrich the debate and broaden perspectives for the future.
Taking the form of three round table discussions themed on customer issues, the Monaco Yacht Summit will address the new situation in yachting, the new expectations and the new opportunities. Each subject will be introduced by a talk from an expert, followed by discussion among a panel of personalities, with a well-known figure acting as facilitator.Summing up the 2008-2013 period: what lessons can be drawn from the crisis? Customer expectations:
super-yachts, mega-yachts or giga-yachts: is it really about size or more about details? New destinations, uses and experiences; technical innovations and latest trends. Under the title New Yachting, New Thinking, these will be among the subjects addressed by the panels and discussed at large.
This first Yacht Summit organised by the Monaco Yacht Show also chimes with the Principality's intention to boost the luxury yachting sector and become the world yachting capital.
Now in its 23rd year, the Monaco Yacht Show will again serve as the world’s most amazing showcase for spectacular yachts, brought together in one place to enchant global superyacht enthusiasts. From September 25th to 28th, over 100 of the world’s most significant luxury yachts will be on full display in Port Hercules, either available for charter or being exhibited to promote a shipyards' expertise in new builds.
Following the success of last year’s event where an impressive fleet, with an average length of 46.7 meters were on display and approximately 40 new builds were unveiled to their world premiere, the 2013 MYS superyacht fleet is also set to attract billionaires from the far reaches of the world.
